UK Business Advisors (UKBA), the UK’s leading membership organisation for highly experienced business advisors, has announced the appointment of three new board members as part of its continued evolution to meet the changing needs of UK businesses.
The appointments bring fresh perspectives, new expertise and a strong focus on supporting UKBA members and their clients as they navigate an increasingly complex business landscape.
Geoffrey Kwateng joins as Chair for London and the South East. With extensive leadership and business transformation and M&A advisory experience, Geoffrey will support UKBA members working with businesses across the region and beyond to unlock value, prepare for growth, strengthen commercial performance and navigate successful business exits.
Chris Taplin has been appointed Chair for the Northern region. A highly experienced digital marketing and web design specialist, Chris will play a key role in shaping UKBA’s digital direction, while supporting members and clients to embrace digital opportunities and improve performance through practical, results driven strategies.
Siobhán Lavelle takes on the role of Chair for the South West. As the first female board member and regional chair, Siobhán brings a wealth of experience in marketing, communications and business advice. She will focus on strengthening regional and national engagement, supporting members to grow their advisory businesses and ensuring clients benefit from clear, strategic and commercially focused guidance.
UKBA is a national network of professional business advisors who bring industry leading expertise, practical insight and hands on experience to SMEs, not for profit organisations and corporates across the UK. Every UKBA advisor has proven business and leadership experience and operates to a strict code of ethics, giving clients confidence in the quality and integrity of the support they receive.
Elliot Harris, Chair of UKBA, said, “This is an exciting moment for UKBA. As the challenges facing UK businesses continue to evolve, it is vital that we continue to develop as an organisation so we can support our members and their clients effectively.
Geoffrey, Chris and Siobhán each bring a distinct set of skills and perspectives that will strengthen our board and help us build on the progress we have made. Their combined experience reflects the breadth and depth of expertise within UKBA.
I would also like to thank our outgoing board members, Gordon Carmichael, Neil Grime and Vikram Kamerkar, for their significant contribution to UKBA. Their support has helped shape the organisation we are today, and we wish them every success for the future.”
UKBA members provide practical, actionable guidance across a wide range of disciplines including strategy, finance, operations, people, technology and marketing. Clients benefit not only from the experience of an individual advisor, but also from access to a national network of trusted professionals with complementary expertise.
As UKBA continues to grow, the organisation remains focused on its core mission, to support business leaders with the insight, guidance and expertise they need to succeed.
