Business experts across the UK
Alasdair is a seasoned business process analyst and systems analyst with deep expertise in translating complex business challenges into practical, high-impact technical solutions. He has built a unique career at the crossroads of technology, innovation, and regulatory environments, spanning industries from IT and finance to healthcare and medical devices.
With roots as a fast jet pilot and instructor in the RAF, Alasdair pivoted early to technology entrepreneurship, becoming one of the UK’s first IBM PC resellers and a pioneer in bespoke business software. Over the decades, he’s launched groundbreaking systems, including ShareWatch for Lloyds Bank Registrars—an early shareholder analysis tool—and VitalLink, the world’s first system to transmit real-time hospital-grade medical data from aircraft mid-flight, featured on BBC’s Tomorrow’s World.
Alasdair’s capabilities encompass systems analysis, requirements scoping, solution architecture, digital innovation, and regulatory compliance (ISO 13485, ISO 14971). He has navigated the full product lifecycle—from prototype development to quality and risk management, securing CE marking and FDA approvals.
His recent work includes process analysis across Somerset NHS Trust, where he mapped end-to-end clinical and operational workflows, designed standard operating procedures, and identified critical areas for efficiency and system improvement.
After a period as a full-time carer, Alasdair re-trained through the Local Government Association’s ICT Return to Work programme, earning a Rising Star Award and updating his skills in cloud technologies, data science, and modern solution architecture practices.
Alasdair thrives on solving complex problems and helping organisations innovate and implement technology solutions that truly work for people.
